UP- COMING BLS AND ACLS TRAINING IN LAGOS, NIGERIA

UP- COMING BLS AND ACLS TRAINING IN LAGOS. powered by Phronesis Medicare international in partnership with National healthcare provider solutions ( USA, TEXAS)

Introduction :    National healthcare provider solutions and the american Heart Association Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Course builds on the foundation and  importance of continuous, high-quality CPR. The hands-on instruction and simulated cases in this advanced course are designed to help enhance their skills in the recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest immediate post-cardiac arrest, acute arrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes.

Educational Objectives:

At the conclusion of the program, participants will be able to:

1. Describe the steps of CPR

2. Describe the signs and action steps for severe airway obstruction in the responsive and unresponsive victim

3. Describe the links in the Chain of Survival

4. Describe the signs & symptoms of common life threatening emergencies

5.Recognize and initiate early management of peri-arrest conditions that may result in cardiac arrest or complicate resuscitation outcome

6.Demonstrate proficiency in providing BLS care, including prioritizing chest compressions and integrating automated external and manual defibrillator use

7.Recognize and manage respiratory or cardiac arrest until termination of resuscitation or transfer of care, including immediate post–cardiac arrest care

8.Recognize and initiate early management of acute coronary syndromes, including appropriate disposition

9. Identify normal vs. abnormal cardiac rhythms and the appropriate pharmacologic and electrical therapies;

10. Demonstrate relieving chocking in the responsive and unresponsive victim of any age

11. Demonstrate performing 1 and 2-rescuer CPR for adult, child and infant victims

12. Demonstrate giving breaths for adult, child and infant victims and the use of various airway and oxygen adjuncts

13. Demonstrate effective communication as a member or leader of a resuscitation team and recognize the impact of team dynamics on overall team performance

14. State the indications & dosages of medications used in cardiopulmonary arrest and the effects on the cardiovascular system

15. Manage cardiac arrest until return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC), termination of resuscitation, or transfer of care.

16. Identify and treat ischemic chest pain and expedite the care of patients with acute coronary syndromes

17. Recognize other life-threatening clinical situations, such as stroke, and provide effective initial care and transfer to reduce disability and death.

18. Demonstrate effective communication as a member or leader of a resuscitation team and recognize the impact of team dynamics on overall team performance.

BASIC LIFE SUPPORT FOR INFANT

PHRONESIS MEDICARE INTERNATIONAL BLS overview for infant Basic life support (BLS) is a basic level of medical care used to help sustain a person who is experiencing cardiac arrest or respiratory failure, until they can be given full medical care by an advanced responder. BLS can be used in any scenario where breathing or heartbeat has been compromised, such as drowning, heart attack, or severe shock (eg, severe loss of blood). BLS is more comprehensive than CPR alone, since it covers additional steps that are not expected from a layperson, as well as techniques for working with other rescuers. The techniques used for BLS vary slightly depending on whether the victim is an adult, child, or infant. This module explains the techniques and procedure for performing BLS on an infant. The adult and child procedures are covered in separate modules. Note: The term 'infant' in this context refers to neonates outside the delivery room setting, up to 12 months old. Children 12 month

The algorithm begins with the assessment of chest pain and whether it is indicative of ischemia. The assessment and management begin with the EMS responder outside of the hospital who can, initiate care. An initial 12-lead ECG can also be obtained early in the assessment of the patient which will help to determine the appropriate destinati

Nigeria Paramedics managing a victim of carbon monoxide poison

Carbon monoxide is a poisonous gas that has no smell or taste. Breathing it in can make you unwell, and it can kill if you're exposed to high levels. Every year there are around 25 deaths from accidental carbon monoxide poisoning in England and Wales. After carbon monoxide is breathed in, it enters your bloodstream and mixes with haemoglobin (the part of red blood cells that carry oxygen around your body), to form carboxyhaemoglobin. When this happens, the blood is no longer able to carry oxygen, and this lack of oxygen causes the body’s cells and tissue to fail and die. Symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning The symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning aren't always obvious, particularly during low-level exposure. A  tension-type headache  is the most common symptom of mild carbon monoxide poisoning. Other symptoms include: dizziness nausea (feeling sick) and vomiting tiredness and confusion stomach pain shortness of breath  and difficulty breathing The symptoms of exposure to low
